Ohh friends!!! Today is a good, GOOD day! That is because today I finally get to show you some of our favorites from our absolutely INCREDIBLE Italy wedding at the Abbazia San Pietro in Valle (about two hours outside of Rome) that we got to photograph a few weeks ago…and it has literally taken me this long just to narrow down the favorites! Put it this way…my first round of selects left me with over 1200 favorites! Ahh! And even now after who knows how many rounds of narrowing, we STILL have to break this up into two parts just to not overwhelm you with all the pretty!
Rebecca reached out to us a few months ago and asked if we would be willing to come to Italy (uh, YES!) and we immediately started planning for their jaw-dropping day. We knew it was going to be amazing, but nothing could quite prepare us for the BEAUTY that was waiting when we pulled up. The Abbazia San Pietro is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before! An 8th century abbey in the heart of Umbria…there is just this indescribable peace when you walk on the property that I think everyone felt! Plus the light! And the architecture! And the flowers! We. were. in. HEAVEN.
And then you add in this couple, their 30 closest friends & family, perfect weather, and the most heartfelt and emotional day we’ve seen in a long time…and it was just a total DREAM to photograph. Not to mention the 4 course meal of authentic Italian dishes that I still dream about now! :)
Next time I’m going to tell you more about this incredible couple and their DREAM TEAM of creatives who traveled to Italy & brought the day together. But for now, enjoy Part I which includes the getting ready, first look & ceremony!
