There are a few things in this world that will always make Justin’s eyes light up. The banana chocolate vivanno at Starbucks, passing a vintage Nissan “Z” on the highway, spotting brand new construction (which he ALWAYS insists on pointing out even though I am completely oblivious), and…well, at least I like to think….me! :) But I have to think that all of those (yes even me!) pale in comparison to the joy of receiving that little box with the chocolate brown lettering from B&H.
The day it’s supposed to arrive is like Christmas morning in our house. He’s up at the crack of dawn, pacing by the tracking page and saying things like “what was that? did you hear something downstairs?” And as the doorbell rings, he races down the stairs in his pajamas to see who it might be. He comes back proudly carrying the box in front of him and grinning from ear to ear. As he tears into it, you would think he just got his very first train set. But it’s better than that.
Soooo much better.
Justin & I have two really BIG shoots on Monday (more on that to come!) and for what we’re going to be doing we were in some serious need of a dual threat lens that was going to rock our cotton socks off. Enter the Carl Zeiss T* Distagon 25mm lens!! This little baby has all the function of a pristine wide angle lens, and the focusing capabilities of a macro. And it just happens to be one of the most tack sharp lenses we’ve ever laid our hands on. We are in LOOOVE!
Check out the sharpness and the focusing distance in these two shots!
This was a little resolution test we did, shooting the window screen through the Cooper drool-covered window at about 5 inches away. Shown at 100%. Incredible!
So yea, just give the UPS guy a Santa hat and I think it’s pretty safe to say that Christmas came early this year. And oh how my husband’s eyes light up!
