Happy Monday!

To kick of the week, we wanted to share with you this interview we did with the absolutely adorable Ria Mishaal Cooke for the UK’s Photography Parlour. Ria is a fantastic interviewer and she asked some really hard-hitting questions that forced us to think. Here is just some of what we covered:

* How we got our start in photography
* Compartmentalizing the workflow
* Being remarkable in a saturated market (“Quit or be exceptional. Average is for Losers.” – Seth Godin)
* Brand consistency
* Putting systems in place
* Constantly evolving
* The two biggest things we would caution new photographers about
* The one thing that will set you apart
* And of course, my rockin’ British accent

    Really great interview, or mini workshop! Let’s see…a couple things that stuck out to me…reminding me that everyone can START a photography business, but most don’t have what it takes to do the REALLY hard work to see it through. I think I need that reminder about once a week. ;) Also, Justin, the comment you inserted about starting small was encouraging. Though I have the desire, I simply don’t have the resources yet to "do it big" like you do. But I know even starting with the small things I’ll be able to be effective and make a statement.

    Thanks for the encouragement, both of you. Feeling good about things now!
