It Has Begun…

Today a new season of college football began. I held a pumpkin spice latte in one hand and a set of car keys in the other (do any other teams do this??), and we watched the game from our couch with the super secret college football package that we just upgraded to so that we could get the game up here in CT. As we watched our boys whoop up on Liberty (sorry Liberty, but I told you it was going to happen), it was once again a DAMN good day to be a Mountaineer!!

And I gotta say, between the college football and the pumpkin spice latte….I think it’s pretty safe to say that Fall is officially here!!

Today our new friend Patrick comes into town as we gear up for four intensive days of shooting starting tomorrow with JC & Esther’s wedding. He’s going to be here most of the next week working on something absolutely incredible for us, and I can’t WAIT to tell you what it’s all about!!

But for now, let’s end this post the way that we end every WVU home game. With a rendition of Country Roads, of course!! (Those of you who weren’t lucky enough to be born a Mountaineer, make sure you listen to the lyrics because they explain a lot of the random WV references I make on this blog!! Like Mountain Mama Benjamin Moore paint!! Since school is back in session, just consider this your homework!)

    Go Mizzou!

Thank you so much for talking with me this morning! I had a blast at the wedding and surprised myself with some of my shots. I’ll have to show you some when I get them back.

It’s funny that you talk about whooping up on Liberty (where I’m an adjunct professor and two times alumni) Don’t worry. You did tell us but we knew it before it started. We were all soo excited with the outcome. If we could make a good showing against WVU then we would gain a lot of respect. It’s not every day we play a BSC team within two touchdowns! Pretty good day to here in Lynchburg!

Can never look at the beauty of West Virginia, without thinking of the destruction mountaintop removal coal mining is wreaking there. You know that the mountain that’s featured on the West Virginia state quarter is slated to have its top blown off? It’s madness!

Great video, though! Your Aunt tipped me off to it. :-)

Wow, West Virginia is such a beautiful place. Such awesome greenery. The view of WV at 0:50 of the video is especially beautiful. I can’t wait to see photos of that 4-day wedding (sounds awesome) . Also can’t wait to hear about your secret plans with your friend Patrick.

@Sabrena: That is SO true!! I kept saying to Justin…."wait, is this Lynchburg Liberty?? I used to debate there and I thought they were a small school. When did they get so GOOD??" So there ya go…you guys definitely made a strong showing!! Congrats!!

Love the school spirit – I’m a UCLA alum and while I don’t have high hopes for our football season, I can’t wait to catch a game at the Rose Bowl – something I haven’t done in over 5 years.

I think that is the first time I have ever seen pictures of WV that did NOT include the Grist Mill at Babcock State Park. LOL
My mom recently had a stay in a hospital in Canton, Ohio and on the wall hung a huge picture of that Grist Mill. Funny because she was from Danese.
