Justin & Mary Brides: Cool Under Pressure

One of the many, many things that makes our brides such amazing people and what I’ve found to be a common thread among them is that they stay cool under pressure on the wedding day. They don’t let the little things get to them, and instead they stay focused on the big picture. (Pun totally intended!)

Yesterday, we had the honor of shooting Margi & Ryan’s incredible wedding in Simsbury. And from minute one when we walked into the salon, we were reminded over and over why we are so lucky that Margi is a Justin & Mary bride. She is pure grace. And everything that’s beautiful. Beaming from the inside out, she radiated a peace and a calm on the whole room that we all couldn’t help but soak in. We breathed a little easier just being around her. Felt happier. Smiled more.

Because Margi made a choice. She chose to soak in every second of the day. To take it all in. To look around her at the people that she loved most in this world. Who were all standing there together with her in these ever fleeting moments. Moments that she’d been waiting for her whole life. To see them laugh together and cry together, and pour out their best hopes for a life full of love. Together.

She made a choice.

She chose to let the little things, any of those little hiccups (ok, can we all PLEASE just agree that this spelling makes so much more sense than hiccough?? seriously? I think if we all stick together, we can start a revolution!!)….anyway, she chose to let any of those tiny hiccups that may have popped up along the way pass by without a second look. To fade away into the day without a second glance. And because of that, because of that choice… everyone around her breathed a little easier. Smiled more. Felt happier.

So here’s to always staying cool under pressure. And to never letting a moment pass you by.
