Ahhh!! Our trip to Italy was truly a trip of a LIFETIME! I still can’t believe all the amazing things we got to see & do…and EAT! :) My Dad reminds us often of just how lucky we are to get to travel like we do, and it’s so true. Growing up in WV, I still very much remember when a family trip in the car 8 hours to Tennessee was about the furthest I’d ever traveled. So to get to hop on a flight for 8 hours and end up in one of the most beautiful parts of the world where we got to spend two weeks traveling all around…that’s something I never want to take for granted. I continue to be amazed at the incredible things that God makes happen in our lives. And every beautiful thing you see below in these photos, is something that I will be grateful for the rest of my life! Here are just a few of our favorite highlights from our time in Rome:
*The grapefruit gelato. Boom. Enough said.
*Walking around at sunset our first night & being welcomed by the most amazing pink sky ever.
*The pasta. Every kind, every flavor. But especially the spaghetti arrabiata
*Sitting out with our couple, Tiffany & Charlie, drinking wine by the Pantheon until 2am.
*First seeing the light pour through the oculus in the Pantheon
*Everything about the Piazza Navona….it’s beautiful!
*Walking among ruins that have been there for 2000 years….crazy!
*Dinner at an outdoor cafe while dueling accordions played.
*Sitting on the steps at St. Peter’s square and people watching
*Waking up early to do a photo safari before the crowds…and the heat!
*This random “floating” guy who blew all of our minds & we had to Google how he was doing it
*The Vittorio Emanuel monument….gorgeous!
*Wandering around side streets & getting lost for the fun of it.
*Not having anywhere in particular to be.
*Did I mention the grapefruit gelato?
Enjoy! And stay tuned for parts II & III (Venice & the Amalfi) coming soon!
