This is not the post I intended to write today. Nope, not at all.
It won’t be witty or well-written or have a good moral ending.
But it did teach me a lesson.
Today we got up at 3:30 in the morning to catch a 6am flight to Florida. We have a wedding down here this weekend and, as luck would have it, we were even on the same flight as our bride and groom. As we settled in to our seats, I started to work on the post I had planned to put up today. But one dead battery later, and the most epic scene getting through an airport since the McCallister family overslept on Christmas morning….and I still have no post. Did I mention there’s no internet in our room either? Yea, just my very weak phone signal acting as a hotspot as I hunker over my laptop.
So this is not the post I intended to write today. Nope, not at all.
But you see, my husband bought me tickets to go to Disney World today for the first time ever (we got to go to Disney Land last year, so this is the inevitable next step), and the look on his face as I continued to do battle with the gods of Wifi was all I needed to see. So I’m closing this laptop right now, and I’m going out into the sun. I’m going to sing the It’s a Small World song and stand out under the fireworks holding my husband’s hand.
And I’m going to soak in every minute of this life for all that I can.
Because real life is greater than blog life. And if I don’t remind myself of that, I may just miss all the magic.
