Speak softly and carry a big calculator

WE’RE BAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!! Did you miss us, huh huh did you did you?? :) We definitely missed you guys! Seriously I was going through some MEGA blog withdrawal being away for so long and I’m SO happy to be back home with you guys!

So as some of you may have seen from J’s Facebook status the past few days, we’ve been busy kicking the year off RIZ-IGHT by finishing out our 2008 taxes!!! Wa hoooo!!

No, WAIT!!! Don’t go….seriously. C’mon don’t be like that. Before you go hatin’ on us forever for being THOSE kind of people…y’know the kind of people who ring in the new year with a glass of champagne in one hand and a schedule C in the other…let me just assure you that we are USUALLY the April 15th at 11:59 pm kind of people. See us and taxes….we’re not tight like that. We don’t hang out with taxes on the weekend and drink margaritas. Taxes wasn’t even on our holiday card list this year. BUT, as it happens, taxes ARE a big part of the glorious mortgage process. And so it goes that we sucked it up and took one for the team. And let me tell you, if you’re going to tackle a job like THAT first thing in the year…before you’ve even had a chance to work off all the turkey and break out of that all important holiday nap schedule…yea if you’re going to come out swinging like that, you gotta make darn sure that you’ve come prepared to play. And as it happens… serious taxes require a SERIOUS calculator. Y’know, like this one! :)

Hey! Speaking of facebook updates….if we’re not ALREADY friends then hit us up HERE and HERE to hook us up!! Then you can hear ALL about our tax antics all the time!!

Taxes Schmaxes! Isn’t that one of those things we have to do in life? Seriously, at my "day" job at APU, I am actually the one who collects all of the taxes from the parents who want financial aid for their kiddos in college. Fun right? Tis the season. Glad you two are back in full swing. We will be praying for you both as you go through the mortgage process, as it can be a total mix of emotions, which calls for a margie every now and then. Cheers!

Sad thing is that I woke up this morning and thought about getting ready to do the tax thing. Kind of pathetic! Glad I am not alone.

A modest 10 million you made huh? Not too shabby, not too shabby. I was just saying to Ryan on the drive home after 6 glorious days away from reality…"Just so you know I am taking a full night this week to work on our taxes, so work it out with the kids." I can’t stand crap hanging over my head or sweating out if we owe millions…I like my reality check early in the year. Bravo to you for sucking it up before ringing in the new year!
