I am a total gymaphobe. The mere thought of walking through the doors as hundred of eyes turn my way is nauseating. And the idea of publicly stretching and then gingerly making my way through rows of equipment to find an open treadmill or elliptical? Not my cup of tea. I’m sorta hyperventilating just thinking about it.
Even when I was five, I prefered huffing and puffing in the privacy of my own home. I used to love rolling out of bed, grabbing a bath towel, and “working out” with Kellyn and the kids on Mousercise. Recently, I’ve been sampling some new workout DVD’s. Ya know, because the youtube videos of Mousercise just weren’t cutting it :) My two favorites? Jackie Warner’s Xtreme Time Saver Workout and Jillian Michael’s Metabolism Boosting Workout. These girls are tough!! And they have NO mercy.
The only problem with working out at home is that I suffer from boredom very easily. Which is why our treadmill seldomly gets used! I just can’t stick with one thing for very long- I need to have a good rotation going. In a few weeks, I’m going to need to switch it up and find some new workouts to try.
So can you guys help a girl out? What are your favorite ways to stay active during the Winter?
