Stuff We Love: New Linens & Wedding Blogs

I am pretty much obsessed with getting new bedding.

No really. It’s turning into a real problem. Every six months or so, I start to get the itch. And that itch turns into a twitch, turns into full on convulsions the likes of which only 600 thread count can subside. For real. Just give me aisles and aisles of Egyptian cotton and I could die a sweet and sleepy death. Throw in a diamond marquis coverlet, and I’d say that was a life well lived.

Yesterday, Justin & I put all those Restoration Hardware gift cards we’ve been getting (Thank you Jil, Tom & Joey!!) to good use and picked out the new bedding for our bedroom. I’m not ready to show you the whole thing yet (mostly because we still have to get our bed frame!), but here’s a little sneak peek into our choices.

Vintage Washed Belgian Linen….yes please!

And that chocolate brown coverlet

In other, completely unrelated, but just as fun news: we are so excited to have had Annette & Mike and Jil & Tom’s weddings featured recently!

Thank you so much to The Bride’s Cafe for picking up Jil & Tom’s Vintage NYC wedding

And to BridePop for picking up Annette & Mike’s winter wedding

You guys are awesome!!

So tell me….are there any other linen junkies out there? Or is it just me??

  1. Ray

I’m loving that Vintage Washed Belgian Linen there! It looks so comfortable and sleep-worthy. ;o) I’ve been dreaming of goose down comforters and goose down mattresses for awhile now. So yeah, I’m a linen dreamer! ;D Congrats on being featured. Should come as to no surprise since you guys rock!

  2. Jil

how cool!! also, nothing beats 600 tc sheets on a just-made bed, with a light down comforter and about 15 pillows … and maybe an ocean breeze coming through the window.

  3. Cathy Crawley

I bought 3 sets of sheets & 8 towels last week and spent the weekend clearing out the old stuff and making room for the new. I LOVE it. Nothing better than a fresh new bedroom with fresh, crispy sheets and soft fluffy towels to relax in after a hard days work ;)

  4. Alison

I am not a linen junkie, I am a sheet snob and happy to own it! L.L. Bean Pima cotton or egyptian cotton sheets are like sleeping in butter. THey actually get softer with wear and never ever pill. Their flannel sheets are amazing and perfect for winter time snuggling. We own nothing else! Fortunately the store is only a couple of towns away, I shop by feel to find the right ones. Yeah, I am weird like that.

LOVE the bride’s cafe! Hoping to have Janie do our flowers!! woohoo!

  6. Vanessa

Hey bedding addict! Can you suggest a great set of sheets taht do not require ironing? Every time I splurge on what I think will be a top-notch set of sheets, they wind up always looking like crap coming out of the dryer.

I’m simply not domestic enough to iron sheets.

    Any suggestions?

@Vanessa: that is such a great question and I do NOT know the answer! If you find a way please let me know too!

Mmmm, gorgeous bedding. We just got the Ralph Lauren Navy Glenplaid duvet, sheets and shams with gift certificates from the wedding (thanks, Macy’s, for putting them on sale!) and I am in love. Except now that we have new bedding, I kind of want to repaint the whole room, get all new furniture, give it a whole new vibe…it’s a slippery slope and I think I’m driving Rob crazy :)

Love linens but am the sole voice in my home so not so high on the priority list sadly. Someday!

@Vanessa I think you’d have to get jersey or flannel sheets. Sheets are the easiest thing to iron though. I’d much rather iron sheets than a pleated skirt or dress shirt!
