Stuff We Love: The End of the World Edition

The past couple weeks we’ve been in what you would call a season of hard work.

This weekend we take off for a trip that has been on my bucket list (and ok let’s be honest, my Pinterest board!) for as long as I’ve had either one of those things. And now it’s happening! And we couldn’t be more excited!

But before we leave, we had a lot of business things that we wanted to get wrapped up and out the door so we don’t have to worry about them while we’re gone. So this past week especially has been dominated by to-do lists and being connected at the hip to our computers as we crank everything out.

Yesterday, after a particularly long day of work, Justin told me to shut my computer and grab my bag….that even in the midst of all the craziness, we still had to have a date night. So we went to Tacuba for some of the best fish tacos on the planet, and then to see “This is the End” at the theater.

If you haven’t seen the previews for This is the End, it’s basically Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill & all their pals v. the Apocalypse. In other words, the world is ending and the guys from Super Bad are our last line of defense. Sweet baby Jesus, please help us! But Justin & I have a real penchant for super inappropriate comedies that should make us blush, so this was right up our alley.

As I was sitting there thinking about the end of the world, it made me think about bucket lists and not putting anything off too long. Because the truth is, we just never know how long we really have. And it made me extra grateful for this upcoming trip….and for living the adventure right now.

It also made me think about what food I would want to have with me at the end of the world (in the movie there is a lot of fighting over the last Milky Way bar), and I pretty quickly decided Tacuba fish tacos would make the list. And then for dessert, it would have to be Trader Joe’s cookie butter.

We just discovered this stuff with Ryan & Ahren Foster brought it to us as a gift at our last Walk Through..and let me tell you, this stuff is Goooo-oooood. It’s basically like peanut butter, but it tastes like cookies. I KNOW! Amazing, right?

And the good news is, not only is it delicious, but I’ve gotta think it would make a pretty good weapon if demons ever did take over the earth.

Y’know, since it’s basically heaven in a jar. :)

Happy Friday friends!

Shortly after moving to Hawaii, I read about cookie butter and just knew I had to try it. Problem is, there is no Trader Joe’s in Hawaii. So I convinced a friend to send me a jar. And yes it really is heaven in a jar. My mom is visiting soon and yes, I requested she bring me another jar. Ugh, how I miss that store.

  2. Deney

    Wait?! What? I won! Yey!
