I’ve always believed that it’s the little things that make a house a home. The down comforters, the clean cotton sheets, the citrus basil lotion on the sink. It’s tea pots and crock pots and whatever you do don’t forget the quilts. It’s cranberries in a jar candle that match the cranberry paint on the walls. It’s star garland and a mason jar full of dried lavender and that desk you refinished yourself. It’s the perfect antique bronzed door knob that brings out the bronze house numbers.
And it’s the thought that goes into all of it.
Finally, finally, finally Justin & I are getting around to have some more time to put thought into our home. And the additions we’ve been making make my heart happy.
Because at the end of the day, it’s all about the little things. And hearts that are happy.
Here are some of our new favorite little things we’ve just added.
1) This candle smells like how I wish I could bake. But at least the house smells good. So that’s gotta win me some good wife points right there. 2) We just found this chair at Home Goods for 70% off because it had some water mark stains on it. A lil upholstery cleaner and we’ll be good to go. Yes, please! 3) I found this lamp shade tucked under a bunch of other ones on the very bottom shelf at Lowes. But I’m pretty sure it yelled out to me because somehow it caught my eye. We already had the silver lamp at home in need of a good new shade. And I swear to you, when we put it out on the desk the whole room changed. Little things have a way of doing that.
I hope you’re all having a fantastic Sunday….and making time for the little things.
