It started as a crazy idea. But as Einstein once said, “If at first an idea does not seem crazy, then there is no hope for it.”
And let’s be honest…that Einstein guy was pretty smart. I mean, just look at how that big brain of his made his hair stick out all over the place. One look at that, and you know he had to be a genius.
Even right now looking back on it, I’m not really fully sure how it happened. I think it started one morning a couple weeks ago over our cinnamon shredded wheat. I just looked at him and said it. I think we should put on a live chat. And it should be all day. And we should broadcast it over the internet. Then I blinked twice. And went back to eating my cereal.
And just like that, Justin went to work. He scoured the internet looking for broadcast platforms, researched camera hook ups, and became besties with the guy at Guitar Center bonding over microphones. In short, he became the “do-er” for my dream. And it has made all the difference.
There are a few people that I want to thank publicly who, if they weren’t in my life, the live chat would have never happened. The first of course being my partner in crime, life and business….Justin. Thank you for taking every dream and making it a reality. And then being there right beside me to throw your arms up with me, as we enjoy the ride. Thank you to friends like Jeff & Erin Youngren, who are always there to take a phone call, to openly share their advice, to give freely of themselves, and to always have our backs. We love you guys!! Thank you to Spring Smithfor jumping in your car and driving five hours to be here in person to help us out. For rocking out the chat room questions while working the camera. And if that wasn’t enough, for bringing eggplant parmesan to boot. Thank you to Julia for being exactly who she is: an irreplaceable, equal part of our team. Who works as hard for these dreams as we do. Tripod, forever! To our in studio team Heather, Jackie, Jess& Brian: I felt like we were in this together! You poured your hearts out, kept the energy up and laughed at all of my lame jokes. And for that, you can never be thanked enough. Thank you, thank you for being there! And to the fantastic Jim Altieri who loaned us the equipment and literally made the broadcast possible, I want to thank you for being the kind of friend you are. Generous, helpful, and above and beyond.
And finally to all of you. To the people who tuned in on Saturday or have since watched the replay with us. Thank you for sharing your days with us. Thank you for listening and going out and doing something with it. I can’t tell you how excited I am to watch each and every one of you fly. Here’s to what’s next.
So, so much love,
**We are going to have the replay up for two more days through Wednesday, and we would love for as many people as possible to see it before it’s gone. If you’ve watched the live chat and feel like you got something out of it, will you help us spread the love & pay it forward?? Will you share it on your wall, post it to any facebook groups or forums you might be a part of, or even just email it to a friend? Seriously, it would mean the world to us!
Also, we are getting some requests to do another LIVE chat this time all about lighting. If that’s something you’d be interested in, will you let us know by leaving a note in the comment box? If enough people want it, we’ll be putting it on after the holidays!!
