The Marantz House Project: Our New Deck is Here!!
Well this is a post that has been a LONG time coming!! As many of you know, we bought & have been restoring an 1880s colonial on the water here in CT (#marantzhouseproject ) a little over five years ago. And piece by piece it is finally starting to come together. One very BIG (and long overdue) piece of the puzzle fell into place this past month when we had a new back deck put on (since the other one was literally crumbling and falling off the house!) and we couldn’t be more in love with it! Two nights ago we had the whole Marantz fam over to see the finished product, grill out for dinner & play dominos (it’s our thing!) and so I was able to grab a few photos to show you guys how it turned out! YAY!
Since we live by salt water, we went with the upgraded trex decking in “Gravel Path” (so that we don’t have to repaint every year…or ever!) And we also did the upgrade to have it be diagonal, which I am SO glad we did…it adds such a nice detail to it! We also did the wainscoting underpinning and the white railing. Eventually we’ll get around to adding lights on the steps and possibly copper toppers on the rails, but for now it’s perfect! And we’re just enjoying a lot of summer nights and a lot of grilling out with our also new copper Weber grill (a new deck definitely deserved a new grill…our old one was busted!!)
So here you go! Take a look at our latest project all finished up! And don’t forget to scroll ALL the way to the bottom to take a look at a BEFORE that you have to see to believe! Also, you can check out all of our Marantz House Projects by clicking HERE!!
YEA!!!!! I can’t wait to come back to visit and see the finished product in person. Love the diagonal – such a good choice :) xoxo
Love it!!
Congratulations on the new outdoor living space! Looks fab and so glad there’s plenty of summer left to enjoy it!
