Last week we put on a workshop.
We planned out our curriculum fully, found a super cute couple (our super cute couple Kristin & Bill!), put together some killer details….and crossed our fingers.
Crossed our fingers that we’d have a good day. Crossed our fingers that we’d have a good group. Crossed our fingers that this would be a group that was all about supporting each other, and that there would be more shout outs than elbows thrown for getting the good shot.
You would’ve thought we’d crossed our fingers AND our toes.
Our day? It was sublime. Pink fluffy cherry blossoms and a steady breeze off the water. Our couple? Indeed, super cute. As cute as cute ever possibly gets. Our group? One of the kindest, most thoughtful, talented group of people we’ve ever had the privilege of spending a day with. Soft spoken, considerate and inquisitive. They asked all the right questions and actually paused to hear the answers. They made us better teachers.
Julia? The ultimate right hand girl, she was a million places at once. Coordinating the day, styling our models, picking up lunch (and Starbucks!), and somehow grabbing killer shots in between. Julia, I don’t know how we ever lived without you….we love you!!
And Justin? MY husband? He absolutely shined as a teacher. It’s no secret that I tend to be the more talkative of our two, but not that day. Justin is a walking wealth of knowledge on all things photography and, let’s just be honest, possesses a rare talent…and he doesn’t get enough credit for it. See, I can say that, I’m the wife. I can’t tell you how proud I was to sit back, smiling so big my teeth hurt, and watch him do his thing. If you ever get the chance to hear him (y’know, above all the noise I make :) do it! You will never look at photography the same.
So as you can see, we had a pretty good day.
Our beautiful bride Kristin gets ready with the help of our “Maid of Honor,” the talented Miss Alicia Candelora. We found that super cute hair piece at J.Crew and I LOVE it!
Kristin you are exquisite….and a bundle of cute to boot.
After the getting ready details at our place, we hit up a church in Branford to talk off camera lighting for processionals and how we bang through our family shots. Then we headed over to the Guilford Yacht Club for the reception, where our handsome groom waits for his bride.
First, we set up a first look….
And then we got down to some portraits. We love when our brides & grooms bring some props that are really personal to them, so for this shoot we brought in some Izze pink grapefruit drinks and a vintage camera.
Her super cute cardigan and jewelry were also from J.Crew
Our attendees are the BOMB! Hello my name is Trent Bailey Cobb. We also had our attendees pose as family members of the couple for our family shots. “Grandfather of the bride” Hilarious!
The dynamic duo of Anna Sawin and Karen Schlink gettin their groove on.
Work it, Kristin Korpos, work it
My girls Megan & Sarah burning it up!
Jacob Bergmeier in the HOUSE!! We heart Jake!
And some KILLER details!
Fun fact: this was our actual menu from OUR wedding day.
Another fun fact: We did the flowers ourselves. I think we’ll stick to photography.
Cupcakes from Sugarbelles! YUM!
To our attendees: thank you so much to ALL of you. For driving hours to be there, for giving 100%, and for always leading with your hearts. We are honored to call you friends.
